About
Picky Grouchy non-Cook

Picky grouchy non-cook is a safe haven for non-cooks of all
types.

Down with shame.  Down with embarrassment.  Down with cooking related weirdness because you feel like you should be a cook. Or that you should
want to be a cook!

Up with
non-cook empowerment.  Up with non-cook pride and non-cooks making it up as we go along. It's fine to give your young children cereal with milk and slices of apple for dinner, especially if the apple is green (psychology!). If you can find some other spare protein to put on a little plate on the side, that's good, too. Maybe half a hard boiled egg?  After all, what is a balanced meal but representation of a good variety of categories?  And non-cooks can be real pros at categories.

Up with non-cook shenanigans!

At first, Picky Grouchy Non-Cook was not called that.  At first, it was called
No More Not Cooking, and it was a completely different thing.  It was a completely different thing because it wasn't about being a non-cook, it was about trying to learn how to be a cook. Also, it wasn't a website. It was a thing I did in kitchens. No More Not Cooking was a project I began because I was feeling low down, sorry, and bad about being a picky grouchy non-cook.  So that you are not kept in suspense until you get a chance to do more clicking, I will tell you that the project involved actual cooking.  I did it because there appeared to be no nobility in being a non-cook.

But I have changed my mind about that! There is nobility, at least, in being and staying closer to who you are than who you think you should want to be.

Be the best non-cook you can be! For more about that, click here.
