Non-Cook Resources:
Articles
These are articles that have caught my attention -- or that I have ferreted out -- relating to various things of non-cook concern.
- Is There a Food Gene?
Tea & Cookies (blog); July, 2007
I really like this gentle piece --- from a food person's point of view--- about nature/nurture and how one becomes a food person or not a food person, given a certain set of parents and circumstances growing up. Weaver's mother is not a food person, yet both she and her brother are...

NYTimes.com;November 2010
The point of view of this article is along the lines of enough is enough with fancy food, with an attitude along the lines of reverse discriminating, as in turning away from fancy, special food in favor of the run of the mill. In that connection, for example, Iceberg lettuce is mentioned.

- "The Moral Crusade Against Foodies"
The Atlantic; March 2011
This writer really has a major judgmental bone to pick with the food people. You probably don't care as much as he does. Reading the article will make you feel like your reasonable, relatively backed-off non-cook stance is the soul of even handed tolerance.

- "Cooking Trends Echo Changing Roles of Women"
FoodReview (a publication of the USDA Economic Research Service)
Vol. 23, issue 1; January-April 2000
This article is long and slightly tedious, but read between the lines and in the end you will not doubt that the modern era has given rise to more and more non-cooks. Especially lady non-cooks.

- Women Who Don't Cook
Southcoasttoday.com; January 2011
I like this fun and easy article about a bunch of (unrelated) ladies who don't cook. The writer did a good job talking with the women, and they all have interesting things to say for themselves. Long live the Reason Type Non-Cook, who doesn't do it and can tell you just why.
